Simone explores an aerial view of ocean pools around New South Wales and the Australian bush, flipping to a ‘birds eye view’ which creates a sense of calm and peace as she addresses the rhythm and movement of the ocean, the stillness of the pools and the intense colours and textures closely observed in the bark of Eucalyptus trees. A quiet calm is what Simone invites an audience to connect with. The distinct colours used become a meaningful treatment to the way Simone highlights the beauty of our ever- changing environment.
'There is something quite angelic about observing the landscape from above; a kind of ethereal imagining. It is a feeling of harmony, a sense of healing and a deep appreciation of the beauty for our Australian landscape. – Simone Read.
